Teaching at Baltimore Civitas
Teaching at Civitas is a team affair. We organize the school as interdisciplinary teams that work with an exclusive body of students. Most teachers will work for studens for more than one year, and there is significant time in the week for the team to collaborate around their students.
Research and our own experiences tells us that good teachers are the most important element of a good school. Our interview process will check out your teaching abilities and experience, but also your inclination for working on a team, and your abilities as a reflective learner.
Civitas is currently hiring for the 2008-09 school year, building a team at the 6th and 9th grades. We are hosting a hiring fair on April 26th, so check out the attached flyer for details. If you miss this one, please send us an email expressing your interest regardless.
Keep in mind that we wil be building two new teacher teams each year for the first three years of the school, so you can send us a resume even if you are not sure you want to work there this year! We will keep you in the loop with any mailings we have, and make sure you know about any future employment opportunities with us.
