Our school is designed to support high performing teams - teams of teacher and teams of students. Each grade level is designed to move as a team throughout the years.

In middle school this means that students stay in the same groups throughout their 6th, 7th and 8th grade years. They work with the same teachers which allows the community to know and work tightly together.

In the high school grades, students have the same teachers for grades 9 and 10 and then again for 11 and 12. Again, this allows the teams to get to know each other well and for high performance to become the norm.

Wednesday Electives!

Every year we offer students an in-depth way of approaching a new subject through our Wednesday electives. Students choose between a wide range of classes that last a little over 2 1/2 hours long and meet once a week. Topics this year include:

Baltimore Urban Debate (for both high school and middle school)
Robotics (middle school)
Project Citizen (middle school)
Video production
Art (middle and high school)
History through film (middle school)

These classes are tasked with discovering new things about their selected topic as well as producing artifacts that reflect and tell about the learning that has gone on.
